We've been seeing this recipe go around Instagram and Tiktok and were keen to see if it lived up to the hype.

Do we think it lived up to the hype? Honestly, it was not as good as expected. We found the lasagne sheets kept getting stuck together, no matter how much we stirred.

Would we do this again? Maybe. Next time, we would definitely throw this into the oven for a bit to get a cheesy crust.

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 500g beef mince
  • 4 carrots
  • 250g dried lasagne sheets
  • 1 brown onion
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 700g passata
  • 700ml water
  • 60ml thickened cream
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (we used a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheese)
  • 2 stock cubes
  • Dried herbs

Method

  1. Dice the onion and carrot, and mince the garlic cloves
  2. Fry the onion and garlic before adding the beef mince to the pot
  3. Once the mince is mostly cooked through, add the passata, carrots, and dried herbs
  4. When the sauce starts to boil, add the water and stock cubes. Then, break up the lasagne sheets and stir well
  5. Once the lasagne sheets are cooked, stir through the cream and shredded cheese and serve up!
