What could be better than stuffing a classic childhood favourite inside a fresh, crusty bread roll?

Makes around 24 rolls

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 4 tsp yeast
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup jam
  • 1-2 tbsp melted butter (optional)

Method

  1. Combine plain flour and salt in a large bowl
  2. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water and let it rest for 2-3 minutes or until little bubbles form
  3. Add the mixture to the large bowl and mix. Once the flour is mostly incorporated, give the dough a quick knead in the bowl
  4. Use oil to grease another larger bowl, place the dough inside and cover with a tea towel for around 30-60 minutes, or until the dough has risen
  5. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius
  6. Grab around 2-3tbsp dough and stretch it into a circle with your hands
  7. Put a spoonful each of peanut butter and jam inside, and pinch to seal
  8. Optionally drizzle a bit of melted butter over the top before baking in the oven for around 40 minutes, or until golden and crusty
