Whenever we go to a restaurant and order tteokboki, you best believe that we are getting the rose one.

It's creamy, spicy and cheesy - what's not to love! We decided it was time that we figured out how to make this at home.

Ingredients

  • 15-20 tteokboki
  • 40-50g fish cakes (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 spring onion (sliced)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 100g spam (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 carrot (cut into match sticks)
  • 250ml thickened cream
  • 50ml milk
  • 40g grated cheese
  • 1 tbsp gochujang
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

Method

  1. Pan fry spam pieces until they are browned
  2. Add spring onions and garlic to the pan and cook until fragrant
  3. Add the carrot/cabbage and fishcakes
  4. Add gochujang, soy sauce, cream and milk to the frying pan and stir well
  5. Once it is lightly simmering, add tteokboki
  6. When the tteokboki are nearly cooked, stir through the cheese and turn off the heat
