Thai Basil Beef

On the menu is one of my new go to's for when I need to meal prep for the week.

If you haven't already guessed, we're making Thai basil beef. It's the perfect balance of sweet and salty and if you're feeling a bit fancy, you can add a fried egg on top. Coming in at $2 per serve, you'll be hard pressed to beat it.

Ingredients

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 capsicum
  • 15g basil leave
  • 5 cloves of galic
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

Method

  1. Dice the garlic and Slice the onion and capsicum
  2. Stir fry the onions and garlic for 1 minute
  3. Once fragrant, add in the beef and mash it into smaller pieces
  4. Just before it is cooked through, add in the capsicum
  5. Once the capsicum and beef is cooked, add in the basil and stir fry for another 1 minute.
